Coronavirus: Service Update

We are pleased to say that, in line with the gradual easing of lockdown restrictions, the Lowndes Street branch will be open for Cashier Services (Mon-Fri, 10am-3pm) as of 1st July 2020.

Social distancing and other necessary precautions will be observed for the protection of our customers and staff.  Customers will be admitted one by one and the counter area will be freshly sanitised for each customer.  A porter will be on hand to ensure safety arrangements run smoothly and cash received will be quarantined for 48 hours to prevent cross-contamination.

Our Fleet Street office remains closed until further notice.  However, all services offered by Cashiers (paying in, cash withdrawals, foreign currency, safekeeping) can be arranged by request, with cash or currency orders delivered by courier.

Services throughout the bank remain fully operational, with most staff working remotely.  Please continue, where possible, to contact us by email or by telephone (there is a 24-hour service for emergency calls).  Letters will of course be answered, but the Royal Mail cannot yet guarantee daily delivery, so items posted to us may take longer than usual to reach us.  All post, including letters for staff usually based at Lowndes Street, should be directed to 37 Fleet Street, London EC4P 4DQ.

We have been touched by kind messages from many customers in recent months and our deepest sympathy goes to those who have suffered personal loss or damage to their business as a result of the pandemic.  Please do let us know if the bank can help in any way.

Our operating arrangements are under continuous review and we will keep you up to date as government guidance evolves.  In the meantime, we hope you are able to enjoy at least some of the pleasures of summer.
