Richard has more than 35 years’ experience in financial services, and brings extensive expertise in accounting, financial management and operations.

From 2013 to 2024, Richard was the Group CFO and COO at Schroders plc, where he delivered significant operational and technological change. 

Between 2016 and 2019, he also served as a non-executive director on Lloyd’s of London’s Franchise Board and chaired its Audit Committee, enhancing the organisation’s financial and regulatory reporting oversight.

Before joining Schroders, Richard qualified as a chartered accountant and was a senior audit partner at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP (PwC).  During his 25-year tenure (17 years as a partner), Richard gained significant experience in auditing complex financial services groups and worked across the firm’s New York, Sydney, Edinburgh and London offices.

Richard is married with two daughters and is a keen sportsperson.
